This French collective draws its inspiration from the hypnotic sounds of 70s Ethiopia, where groove meets wild improvisation and traditional scales.
Since 2019, The Selenites Band has blazed its own trail with three albums that blend ethio-jazz, afro-jazz, psychedelia and krautrock. On stage, the sextet deploys a captivating sonic power, transporting the audience into a mystical atmosphere worthy of the clubs of “Swinging Addis”. Each performance becomes an immersive experience where dance and trance intertwine, leaving an unforgettable imprint.
They have already conquered iconic venues and festivals such as New Morning, and shared the stage with international artists such as GONG, Orchestre National de Barbès, Acid Arab, and Aquaserge.

Un groove venu d’ailleurs, une transe mystique, un voyage dans le temps et l’espace : The Selenites Band réinvente l’éthio-jazz en y insufflant une énergie contagieuse, moderne et cinématographique. Ce collectif français s’inspire des sons hypnotiques de l’Éthiopie des années 70, où le groove rencontre des improvisations sauvages et les gammes traditionnelles.

Depuis 2019, The Selenites Band a tracé sa propre voie avec trois albums qui mêlent éthio-jazz, afro-jazz, psychédélisme et krautrock. Sur scène, le sextet déploie une puissance sonore captivante, transportant le public dans une ambiance mystique digne des clubs du « Swinging Addis ».
